On the first weekend in July each year, Aberdeen hosts an event that celebrates Scottish heritage and traditions of the first founders of Aberdeen. Join The King's for a fun-filled day of festivity at The Aberdeen Highland Games. The day has a number of events and games such as; the opening and closing ceremonies, 3 legged race, warrior competitions, highland dancing, pipe bands, BBQ's stalls and much more. You may even like to take part in the community challenges including; egg toss, bring some tartan and join in on the kilted dash or join the tug-o-war! |

ITINERARY 8:00am Depart Kings Coach Depot, 6 Lingard Street, Merewether. Pick up points are available at Tighes Hill, Mayfield, Hexham, East Maitland or Maitland by arrangement at time of booking. Morning tea will be served upon arrival in Aberdeen. 10.45am The Opening Ceremony will officially begin the festival. You will be free to explore at your leisure as there will be a number of events running simultaneously. It is advisable to take a fold up chair to use as you watch the activities. Lunch is not included in your fare although there are several options available. You may like to take your own picnic lunch or obtain food from one of the stalls at the venue. Another alternative would be to dine at the local Bowling Club which is just a short walk away. 4.00pm The Closing Ceremony will commence. No festival is complete without a parade, and when all the colour and excitement of Country Music can be brought together in a huge street procession, it becomes an experience that’s hard to beat. See spectacular floats, listen to bands, and enjoy the celebration of Tamworth and Country Music. The Day is at your leisure! Enjoy the fun and activities when Tamworth, the Country Music Capital comes alive to the sounds of Bush Ballads, Bush Poetry, Bluegrass, Gospel, Rockabilly or Country Comedy – see the stars and buskers use a variety of musical styles and instruments making their contribution for your enjoyment. 6.30pm Reboard the Coach after an exciting and entertaining day. Join The King's to visit this 25 acre, state of the art facility at Glossodia. Here the training of guide dogs for the vision impaired occurs as well as companion dogs for children and adults who are disabled or disadvantaged owing to age, isolation or ill health. PLEASE NOTE: The Guide Dogs Association does not charge entry for our visit. They also do not receive government funding. Everything achieved is made possible by the generosity of donors, bequestors and volunteers. There is the opportunity for passengers to make a donation to this valuable charity during our visit to the venue.

Constructed between 1866 and 1869, the great Lithgow Zig Zag Railway was one of the major engineering feats of its time. In 1975 it was revived by a very dedicated group of volunteers to become one of the area's major tourist attractions. Tour Features: A day visiting the Blue Mountains Lithgow area - take a ride on the historic Zig Zag Railway. The tour provides a unique opportunity to view magnificent old sandstone viaducts and the scenery of the Western escarpment of the Blue Mountains . Lunch will be at the Lithgow District Workmen's Club Bistro (not included in the tour cost)
